Lexus, the luxury car company has commissioned a pop art inspired artwork by designer Joe Kwan. With electric cars quickly becoming the new normal, companies have been jumping at opportunities to join in.  Crown Motors Limited (CML) has decided to create a cultural moment by creating unique NFTs.

Mr. Adley Low, Marketing Director, Greater China and Singapore, Inchcape says, “CML has been in Hong Kong for 55 years and over the past five decades we’ve had some outstanding projects and created some once in a lifetime experience. This is one of them.”

The Lexus UX is Lexus’s first electric car and launched in Hong Kong in 2021. CML partnered with local designer Joe Kwan to create a very special NFT that would be sold as part of the package that includes an actual Lexus UX300E Special Edition.  The Lexus UX NFTs are "phygital" – blended with digital media and the Special Edition of the Lexus UX.  

The Lexus NFT shall on sale on January 15th, 2022 via the online platform https://artsliberty.com. A digital art marketplace using Ethereum technology in collaboration with Mercury Technology.  The winning bidder will receive  “the digital packaging of an exclusive video, an illustration, and a digital piece of Lexus UX300E of sorts commemorating the sale of a spectacular Lexus UX300E Limited Edition vehicle.”

About Joe Kwan

Joe Kwan, a multidisciplinary designer working with mediums such as branding, products, graphics, NFTs, etc. In 2014, Joe initiated ANICORN as one of the most energetic design practices in Hong Kong.

Joe collaborates with international artist / designer / organisation - Daniel Arsham (New York), M/M (Paris), Philip Colbert (London), NASA (US) to create collaboration project. The collaboration defines a new perspective of time through timepiece design. Joe Kwan's works have been selected for numerous international design awards including: British D&AD Awards, Australian Graphic Design Association (AGDA) and Hong Kong Designers Association Awards.
